How Much Water Will Help My Weight Loss?

How much should you drink to help weight loss?
The recommended water intake is about 8 glasses a day (about 2 litres). Drinking too much, particularly all at the same time can be counter productive (even dangerous if taken to excess), so it is suggested that you spread your water intake out throughout the day. That doesn’t sound too bad now does it, a glass when you wake up and then one with each main meal and you are halfway to that target.
But what about the toilet, we hear you cry.
It is perfectly normal at least in the first few days of your new found love for water, for you to be going to the toilet more often. Indeed many people can find this so oppressive they give up and go back to their pre 8 glasses a day lifestyle.
But you should stick with it, and things will improve. As your body slowly comes to realise that this new found hydration is permanent, your trips to the toilet should decrease, One reason for this is that as your system flushes itself, the water it has been holding onto as a reserve is let go. Your body starts to trust that the new found water supply will continue and so it doesn’t need the stocks that have been built up. This in itself will help weight loss, even as your liver is given a chance to function as it should.
